At the Co-op, all of our fresh turkeys are 100% British, produced to the standards you expect and deserve.

Our 100% fresh British turkey is reared by members of the Co-op’s Turkey Farming Group, farmers we know and trust to raise the turkeys to our strict welfare standards. They are reared by farmers who understand the standards that are expected under the Red Tractor Assurance scheme. Hence why we label all of our turkeys with the familiar farm assured Red Tractor logo alongside the Quality British Turkey mark, your guarantee you are buying turkey farmed in the UK to high standards of food safety, traceability and animal welfare.

Together with this Group of 6 farmers, we are focused on delivering quality turkey and a transparent supply chain you can trust, so you know exactly what you’re getting – and where it comes from.

The simplicity of our supply chain means that any our turkeys carrying the Quality British Turkey and Red Tractor logo can be traced back to the individual farm and breeding stock, giving you added confidence and reassurance in the product you are buying.

This means that our turkeys are:

  • 100% British, sourced from farms in England all year round.

  • Our turkeys live in sheds where the temperature and ventilation are monitored and controlled to meet the bird’s requirements all day and night. They have access to food and water at all times and can move freely around the shed where they can interact with their companions.
  • Our turkeys are Quality British Turkey and Assured Foods (Red Tractor) certified, meaning they are produced to high standards of food safety, traceability and animal welfare.
  • The turkeys are grown using a balanced diet designed to provide good health.
